Job Description:
FUNCTIONAL TESTER:

Understand functional requirements documentation and release notes in depth so as to be able to identify gaps between the required and actual product performance parameters.

Develop test cases, test data and testing scripts for both manual and automation testing; execute operational test flows with adequate technical depth in order to ensure complete and comprehensive testing coverage.

Document proof-of-test results for timely engineering resolution, and verify, test, close test-outcome issues. Should ensure effective defect tracking and document the outcomes clearly and in a timely manner. Provide test execution reports to Team Lead on a periodic basis.

Collaborate with beta-site testers in issue replication and resolution whenever required. Log defects in the Defect management tool on a regular basis.

NON FUNCTIONAL TESTER:
Should possess Expert level knowledge of Non Functional testing methodology, automated test/load tools (preferred: Load Runner) and test documentation procedures.

Should have good understanding of relational Database(preferred : SQL/Oracle).

Certifications preferred (CSQA/CSTE/Mercury certifications/Tool certifications).

Should have good knowledge of defect management system (i.e. any tracking tool)

Knowledge of XML and Web Services will be an added advantage.

Should possess Knowledge of the application/architecture being tested and its integration points Experience with performance testing systems to demonstrate that the applications can withstand or recover appropriately from failure or high pressure points.

Data centre experience highly preferred.

Participation in benchmarking exercises preferred.

Understanding of network constraints and protocol limitations.

Should possess strategies for overcoming data constraints

Should possess good mentoring skills to train and share the KT to the team members.

Should be able to adapt fast to the dynamic environment.
Skills:
The candidate should have the following skills:
Exposure to testing software using contemporary defect detection and other relevant tools, ideally in a product environment

Good knowledge of SQL

Should have a good understanding of Relational Database (preferred : SQL/Oracle)

Good knowledge in OOPs concepts, programming skills

Knowledge of web services testing , XML would be an added advantage
